1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, browsing, registering for, or using the SlimMedia platform (“SlimMedia,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

SlimMedia provides post-processing software, media library optimization tools, transcode scheduling, and coordination infrastructure for distributed agent workers. Users deploy and operate their own worker nodes to transcode media libraries locally using tools such as FFmpeg and hardware-accelerated encoders. For open-source licensing terms, GPLv3 notices, and FFmpeg source code offers, please review our Open Source Licenses.

3. User Accounts & Third-Party Authentication (OAuth)

You may create an account using traditional email and password credentials or through third-party authentication services, including Google OAuth and GitHub OAuth.

  • Account Responsibility: You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials, tokens, and agent pairing codes, and for all activities that occur under your account.
  • Third-Party Terms: When accessing SlimMedia through Google or GitHub OAuth, you must also comply with the respective terms and acceptable use policies of Google and GitHub.
  • Accurate Information: You agree to provide accurate and complete account details. Registering accounts through automated scripts or disposable bot mechanisms is prohibited.

4. Media Content, Intellectual Property & Legal Use

SlimMedia is designed for lawful post-processing and optimization of media files that you own or have obtained the legal right and license to process.

  • Content Ownership: You retain complete ownership and intellectual property rights over your media files. SlimMedia claims no rights or title to any content you transcode or manage.
  • Compliance with Copyright Laws: You agree not to use SlimMedia in violation of copyright, patent, trademark, or any other proprietary rights of third parties.
  • No Cloud Storage of Media: You acknowledge that SlimMedia does not ingest, copy, or distribute your media files to third parties or host media on cloud infrastructure.

5. Acceptable Use & Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Interfere with, disrupt, or compromise the integrity of the SlimMedia API or server networks.
  • Bypass rate limiting, authentication mechanisms, or security controls.
  • Abuse OAuth endpoints or misrepresent identity or authorization from Google or GitHub.
  • Use the Service to distribute malware, malicious transcode payloads, or engage in unauthorized network intrusion.

6. Hardware, Transcoding & Local Infrastructure

Video and audio transcoding are compute-intensive operations that generate sustained CPU and GPU workloads and thermal stress. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your local hardware, power supplies, cooling systems, and agent machines are properly configured, maintained, and operated within safe thermal and electrical parameters.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT TRANSCODE RESULTS WILL BE FREE FROM CORRUPTION OR ARTIFACTS.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SLIMMEDIA, ITS MAINTAINERS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF MEDIA FILES, HARDWARE DAMAGE, OR LOSS OF PROFITS ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

9. Termination & Account Cancellation

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account or access to the Service if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct harmful to other users or the platform. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes occur, the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document will be revised. Continued use of the Service following modifications signifies your acceptance of the updated Terms.
